The Great 8 electronics mod is one of our most demanded mods. With this mod we double the sonic spectrum of our two-humbucker instruments. You still have the full powered tone of each humbucker and the traditional settings to give you neck, bridge or both. With Great 8 we add two push-pull switches to the volume and tone knobs, that when pulled up one coil of the humbucker is disengaged giving you a cleaner single coil tone. You can control each pickup separately, maximizing your options. What can you do with 8 sonic options?
Some 8-strings are just a standard 6 string with a few strings added. We focused on building something special just for the demands of 8 string players. Each detail was driven by the input we got from our MK players community. The 508 features a new fast-comfort neck profile carved into a 5-piece neck. We selected a multi-ply maple and walnut neck for added rigidity, stability and resonance. The 508 is equipped with specially-voiced Rockfield pickups. We expand their tone options with our Great 8 wiring mod, that gives you 8 great tone settings.
